Track Meet 'a success' despite ill winds
By Michael Farine
Journal Staff Writer
Despite chilly temperatures and light rain, the first
Woodward & Lothrop-Millrose Track Classic Saturday at
Georgetown Prep was considered a success by Prep Coach Mike Horsey.
"We tried hard to promote it and overall, I thought
it went pretty well considering this is the first time
we've held the event and that the poor weather hindered
the times some," said Horsey. "The idea was to get the
kids to qualify with good times for events later in the
year - it had nothing to do with total team points."
Team scores weren't accumulated for the 38 schools
participating in track and field events, but individual times were.
