In 1994, Maryland switched to a four-tiered classification system with schools classified as 1A through 4A based on student population of grades nine through eleven. The student population is re-evaluated approximately every three years. Each classification has four regions with schools grouped into regions by geographical location when possible.

This page captures the results of this region for years in which Montgomery County schools participated.
